Fake it till ya Make it

about

This one is a heavily heart-felt song full of sarcasm & bitterness. As an artist & "truth-seeker" it's dis-heartening to get a good look at just how the music world can be. The "Starved Artist" is always the truest one...sort of a martyr for the arts... often starving and failing because of the deep-rooted desire to be true to the self,,and the art. In this world to be successful in your art it seems you need to be extremely compromised, you need to cater to things that will generate money,,, Money as a means to an end---and that is what is considered success. I've always felt that true success is awarded by feeling proud that you've accomplished what you've set out to do. If you've set out to make money--- and succeeded....well that's great; but if you've done so by stepping on all your friends, lying, cheating, stealing, being completely fake,,,and a puppet to your greed... well then you've succeeded in being a scumbag in my opinion. For all those artists out there who stay true to their art without feeling the pressure to stab anyone in the back just so you can climb to a better status,,,my respect goes out to you! Although martyrs often suffer & starve the worst,,,it's a damned honorable path full of good intentions, and should be commended. However: "good intentions pave the way to hell"...unfortunately. This song is for those amazing artists living & dead who never got the respect they deserved despite all their hard work & honest efforts!
